Dr. Acquino Vimal
Ambassador 

Dr. Acquino Vimal has been appointed as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway. 

Dr. Vimal joined the Indian Foreign Service in September 2000. He has served in the Indian Embassy in Tehran (2002-05), Permanent Mission of India for UN in New York (2008-11), High Commission of India, Islamabad (2011-13), High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur (2014-15) and Embassy of India, Beijing (2018-2023). 

At Headquarters, he had served in Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi as a Desk Officer for Afghanistan (2005-07); in Personnel Department (2007-08); as Director in Americas Division (2015-16) and as Head of Division of Vigilance and Inspection in Ministry of External Affairs (2016-18). 

Dr. Vimal is married with two children. He has studied MBBS (Medical Science) and fluent in English, Hindi, Persian and Tamil.
