SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR DIASPORA CHILDREN (SPDC)
for Academic Session 2018-19
The Embassy of India would like to inform that the Government of India has announced 150 slots for Scholarship for Diaspora Children under SPDC Scheme for academic year 2018-19. The last date for online submission of application has been extended from 30th September, 2018 to 15th October, 2018.
As you may be aware, the Government of India launched the SPDC scheme in the academic year 2006-2007 for the wards of Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to assist them in pursuing Under Graduate courses in Indian Universities/Institutes. Under SPDC scheme financial assistance for specific undergraduate courses in Professional and Non-Professional courses (except Medical and related courses)is provided towards tuition fee, admission fee and post admission services. The scheme is applicable to NRIs and PIOs from 66 countries including Norway.
Eligible candidates are urged to take admission in the Indian Institutes and apply for the scholarship on the SPDC portal www.spdcindia.gov.in Revised guidelines are also uploaded on the portal.
Those who are interested to apply for the scholarship under SPDC, please fill up the form on the portal and send a copy of the filled application to this Embassy along with copies of your passport and OCI card to enable us recommend your application for the scholarship under SPDC.
