Focused Interaction for Opportunities in Animal Husbandry and Dairy in India

The Embassy of India in Oslo would like to inform that India Invest  has organized a focused session for the Opportunities in Animal Husbandry and Dairy in India. India is the largest producer of milk in the world – with an annual production of 187.75 MT (as of 2018-19) that accounts for about 22% of the world’s milk production. Between 2016 to 2019, the annual milk production in the country registered a CAGR of 6.4%. There is a great deal of potential for growth in value-added products segments like curd, cheese, butter, and flavored milk.

India has the largest population of cattle and buffaloes in the world and is currently the second largest exporter of buffalo meat. India’s total export of livestock and livestock products in 2018 was INR 457.76 billion. There is a growing demand for upgrading infrastructure, testing facilities, and animal feed in this segment. The percentage of meat consumers has been growing in India because of rapid urbanization and increase in income.

For this, Invest India has organized a focused session under the Chairpersonship of Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy. Towards the same, Invest India & the Department warmly invite the relevant companies and business associations operating in Norway.
