33rd Surajkund International Crafts Mela
1st - 17th  February 2019.

The Embassy of India would like to inform that 33rd edition of the Surajkund International Crafts Mela will be held from 1 to 17 February 2019 at Surajkund, Faridabad, Haryana, India.

The Fair is jointly hosted by Ministries of Tourism, Textile (Development Commissioner, Handlooms & Handicrafts), External Affairs and Culture, Government of India along with Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and Haryana Tourism.  It showcases the finest traditions of handicrafts, handlooms, culture and cuisine from all parts of the India as well as foreign nations.

To preserve the languishing arts & crafts of India, Surajkund Crafts Mela was hosted for the first time in 1987. The Mela has paved a path for establishing a conducive environment for craftsperson to directly market their wares while eliminating the middlemen. A large number of renowned national and international folk artistes and cultural groups present day performances at both the Chaupals, the open-air theatres, located in the Mela premises

The Mela is a lifetime experience where one explores an exquisite mix of thatched huts, folksongs, flamboyant colours, ornate crafts and aroma of different cuisines. The multi-cuisine Food Court provides ethnic cuisines from all over the world, which are immensely popular with visitors. There are designated places for amusement, adventure sports and joy rides to make it a must visit event for the young. Over the years, the Mela has come to occupy a place of pride and prominence on the tourist calendar of the region. The previous Mela attracted footfalls of more than 12 lacs.  In 2017 more than 26 countries with 362 participants participated in the fair

Surajkund International Crafts Mela organizers invite participation of vibrant cultural troupes (comprising 10-15 members) and 4-5 artisans/craftsperson from Peru and Bolivia to showcase their unique crafts.

During their stay the Surajkund Mela authority will provide free boarding, lodging and airport transportation from the Delhi Airport to the venue of the Mela.  However, this package does not include International Airfare and any Professional fee.
