Emergency Certificate (EC)

Before you proceed to the desired service, you may consider the following registrations, if applicable

  1. Registration of Overseas Indians and Persons of Indian Origin in Norway - https://www.indianembassyoslo.gov.in/register.php
  2. Registration of Indian Academicians & Indian students in Norway - https://www.indianembassyoslo.gov.in/student_register.php

Eligible Indian Nationals can do online registration for applying for EC. Use Internet Explorer Browser for doing Online Registration.

Steps to be followed:

  1. Open https://portal3.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.htmlon internet;
  2. Register by clicking on"Register"Link. Select "Norway-Oslo" in the box against Indian Mission;
  3. Login with the registered login ID and Password on "User Login"link
  4. In the Applicant Home Page, click on "Apply for Emergency Certificate " link to file a new application.

After filling up online application, a print-out / hard copy of the application along with the self-attested copies of all requisite documents (as mentioned in the checklist given below) is required to be submitted directly at the Embassy or sent through registered post. Submission of application at the Embassy requires prior appointment. Request for appointment can be sent via email ([email protected]).

Checklist:

  1. Copy of Indian passport
  2. Residence permit in original
  3. Copy of residenc permit fron and back side
  4. Police complaint in original regarding loss/theft of Passport (It is mandatory to mention passport number on the police report)
  5. Flight ticket to India
  6. 2 Photographs (5X5 CM)

Please note that EC is one way travel to India from a foreign country.
