MOUNTAINEERING VISA
This category of visa will be applicable to foreign nationals whose sole purpose of visiting India is for mountaineering/trekking expeditions.
Instructions:
Applicants desiring to visit India for mountaineering / climbing mountain peaks, have to obtain permission for such expeditions from the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), which coordinates all expeditions in the Himalayas.
Applications/Requests (in triplicate) for such expeditions should be addressed to Ministry of Defence Govt. of India and should be submitted at the Embassy at least four months in advance with full details of the expedition. Visas are issued after authorization/approval from the concerned authorities in India.
