Vande Bharat Mission - Consent and Registration Form for repatriation of Indian citizens stranded in Norway from Oslo to Delhi / Hyderabad

Back | Print

Dear friends,

As you are aware, the Government of India has taken an initiative for repatriation of Indian citizens, who are stranded worldwide in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, under ‘Vande Bharat Mission’.

2. In view of the above, the Embassy is in constant touch with the Government of India for repatriation of Indian citizens stranded in Norway. In this context, several interested people, who are stranded in Norway, have already completed the registration formalities to travel to India via Frankfurt. While the Embassy is yet to receive the final date of travel, we will revert on receiving a confirmation from Air India/Government of India.

3. Meanwhile, we have been approached by some people, who are not interested to travel via Frankfurt due to some visa related issues and hence they have requested to organize a direct flight for India, if possible. Keeping in view of the requests, the Embassy is in touch with Air India through the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi to organize a direct evacuation flight from Oslo to Delhi or Hyderabad on or around 15th June, 2020. It may be underlined that the feasibility of organizing the direct flight will be subject to availability of confirmed number of travelers between 200 and 250.

4. As some OCI Card holders have also approached the Embassy to travel to India under ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ on compelling reasons, it has been decided that the following categories of OCI cardholders in Norway can also register themselves to travel to India by the direct flight:

i) Minor children born to Indian nationals abroad and holding OCI cards;
ii) OCI cardholders who wish to travel to India on account of family emergencies like death in family;
iii) Couples where one spouse is an OCI cardholder and the other is an Indian national and they have a permanent residence in India; and
iv) University students who are OCI cardholders (not legally minors) but whose parents are Indian citizens living in India.

5. In view of the above, we would appreciate if you could kindly confirm your consent by sending the attached sheet by Tuesday, 26th May, 2020 at 3.00 pm, if you are interested to travel by direct flight. It may be reiterated that if we do not have sufficient numbers of passengers travelling by the direct flight, the option via Frankfurt will remain valid for which many Indians/OCI cardholders have already registered.

6. The Embassy would greatly appreciate if the interested persons could send their consent by filling up the attached sheet at the earliest to enable us to take a final decision.
