With strong democratic principles, grassroots politics, inclusive growth model, strong civil society groups, media, Judiciary and the inbuilt system of checks, India is clearly a model for developing democratic societies. At the global fora, India is playing a predominant role in G-20, G8-G5, NAM, CHOGM etc. and forging multinational and regional partnerships in BRIC, IBSA, EAS, BIMSTEC, SAARC, SCO, IOR, ARC, etc. India’s voice today earns respect. Global powers are calling for a ‘new world economic order’, reforms of global economic and financial architecture where India’s central role in the global economy is well recognized.
