The Embassy of India would like to inform that the Directorate of Film Festivals, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government Of India, is organizing the 49th International Film Festival (IFFI-2018) to be scheduled from 20th – 28th Nov 2018 in Goa, India, the event is supported by the State Government of Goa and the Indian Film Industry.
Since 1952, India has hosted 48-International Film Festivals, both competitive and non-competitive. The festival became an annual event from 1975. The 49th edition of the festival which includes a competition for feature films by directors from All Continents will be held in GOA.
The festival aims at providing a common platform for film makers of the world to project three excellence in film art; contributing to the understanding and appreciation of film culture of different nations in the context of their social and cultural ethos; and promoting friendship and co-operation among the people of the world.

An “International Competition” Section for feature films by filmmakers from all over the world with a total prize money of USD 200,000

Films produced between1st Sep 2017 and 31st Aug 2018 would be eligible for the festival. Brochure with detailed information is also attached for reference.
