The Embassy of India in Norway would like to inform that the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is organizing the Overseas Campus Placement Programme for Chartered Accountants from 18th to 21st October 2019.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a statutory body and it functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. The Institute has 34 Overseas Chapter across the world besides 164 branches spread across the country. The ICAI with 292,000 members and 750,000 students is the second largest accounting body globally and is represented at all international forums on accountancy. The Indian Chartered Accountancy qualification is widely acclaimed. Nearly 20% of Indian CAs are employed internationally. Indian CAs by virtue of their professional competence with global scalability, gain employment and other assignments across all jurisdictions.

Accounting sector is identified as one of the 12 champion sectors by Honorable Prime Minister of India for export promotion. With a view to promote export of Indian Accountancy services, ICAI is organizing the Overseas Campus Placement Programme for Chartered Accountants from 18th to 21st October 2019. Integrated Machine Tool Park (IMTP)

The Embassy of India in Norway would like to inform that the Government of Karnataka in association with the  Department of Heavy Industry, Ministry of Heavy Industry & Public Enterprises, Government of India is developing an exclusive Integrated Machine Tool Park (IMTP) in 529 acres of land at Tumakuru. This would be an integral part of Government of India supported TumakuruMachine Tool Park (TMTP) on the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor and is located about 90 kms from Bengaluru and Bengaluru International Airport.  The park is expected to be ready by March, 2019. 158 industrial plots of various dimensions have been formed in this park.

The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Karnataka is committed to promote investment and trade in industry sector. Karnataka is the first State to enact Industries Facilitation Act in 2002. Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act (Sakala Act)  was passed by the Government of Karnataka in 2011 defining clear timelines for providing various services. More than 80 Industry-related services are covered under Sakala Act.

Karnataka has a robust ecosystem which enables ease of doing business in the State, be itthe initiatives like Single Window Clearance Portal or integrated system for approvals.

This would be a golden opportunity for manufacturers of machine tools, accessories, attachments, sub system assemblies, components and parts, dies and moulds, tools and tooling, consumables and other directly related to machine tool industry and service providers and units providing support to the machine tool industry to set up their units in TMTP.

The Karnataka State Industrial policy 2014-19intends to offer special impetus with incentives and concessions and special rate for the industrial plots.

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, Special Economic Zone (JNPT SEZ)

Support for marketing land parcel for setting up a manufacturing hub

The Embassy of India in Norway would like to inform that the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India under the Sagarmala Programme has identified ‘Port Led Industrialization’ as a key pillar to develop the Indian economy and boost industrialization. In this regard, JNPT has setup a ~685 acre Multi-product Special Economic Zone i.e. JNPT SEZ to promote industrialization, generate employment and reduce the logistics cost of India. JNPT SEZ is in line with the Make in India initiative and is a priority project of the PMO.

Jawaharlal Nehru Port is India's #1 container port and is located near Mumbai. Some key facts about the port are:

• Handles ~40% of all container traffic from India
• Located at a 40 minutes drive from the commercial capital of India i.e. Mumbai
• Weekly connectivity to all major ports across the globe

JNPT SEZ has made significant progress in the last one year. The first phase of land allotment is complete and we’ve received unprecedented response from the investors. ~75 acres has been allotted to companies for setting up their manufacturing and warehousing facilities.

We have launched the second phase of land allotment on Nov 13, 2018 to setup a state-of-the-art manufacturing hub on ~296 acres of land. The land allotment at JNPT SEZ is done through a paperless, transparent E-tender cum E-auction process.

The key value proposition of JNPT SEZ is as follows:

• Unmatched connectivity: Located ~5 km from JN Port, the SEZ enjoys unmatched connectivity globally (weekly connectivity to all global ports) and with the hinterland (6/8 lane roads and DFC connectivity for rail);
• Execution certainty: ~75 acres of land has already been allotted till date and infrastructure development at the site is in progress; all clearances in place;
• Single window clearance: JNPT SEZ is a special planning authority (SPA) and hence all developmental approvals will be provided by JNPT;
• SEZ incentives: Duty free imports/ exports and income-tax exemption till 15 years as per SEZ Act;
• Skilled manpower: As JNPT SEZ is located at a 40 minutes drive from Mumbai, skilled manpower is available in abundance.
