ICCR Essay Competition
The Embassy of India would like to inform that Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is celebrating its 70th Foundation Day on 9 April, 2020. However, the grand celebrations planned earlier by ICCR are now postponed by a year in the wake of Covid-19.A Press Release issued by ICCR is attached.
ICCR was founded in 1950 by India's first Education Minister, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, with the objective of fostering and strengthening cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and the world, and to promote cultural exchanges with other countries and people.
ICCR will mark this occasion of its Foundation Day on 9th April by undertaking various online activities in India and abroad. Essay Competitions for international students and Indian diaspora will be held in India and all over the world. On this occasion, two following essay contests are being held in different categories:
Category 1:ICCR students in India and ICCR alumni overseas Topic of the essay: "Studying in India: My Personality Growth, My Experience”
Category 2: For Indian Diaspora Community Members and includes both NRIs and PIOs Topic of the essay:"India in Norway: Cultural Imprint, Retrospect and Prospects”
Word limit for both entries are 2000 words.
The last date for receipt of entries is 30th April, 2020.
The essay competition will have globally three prizes:
1st Prize: USD 2000/-
2nd Prize: USD 1500/-
3rd Prize: USD 750/-

Essay may be submitted in English language with your details (Name, Nationality, Country of residence,University, address,phone no).
All entries are to be sent in category 1 to the SPD ICCR, Mrs Sulakshana Bhatiaon spdawards.iccr@gov.in.
For category 2 entries are to be sent to Mrs. Archana Sharma on email cssection.iccr@nic.in.
