Death CertificateFor Indian National
Documents required for issue of Death Certificate to an Indian National (all the documents issued by Norwegian authorities need to be translated in English, notarized and apostilled):
- Passport in original
- Copy of passport, front picture page and address page
- Letter stating request for Death Certificate
- Medical Certificate stating cause of death and deceased’s details(from official government body) in Norsk and English.
- Copy of informant’s passport (spouse, next to kin, etc.)
- District Court statement about foreign citizen’s death in original and details about person’s death in English.
Extra documents required for transporting the dead-body to India(all the documents issued by Norwegian authorities need to be translated in English, notarized and apostilled) :
- Certificate of Embalming of body from Hospital
- Certificate that the body is placed in a zinc-lined coffin.
- Declaration that the coffin contains nothing but the body.
- Certificate that the body is not contaminated with contagious disease.
- Authorization for removal of body from the police.
Extra documents required for transporting the ashes to India (all the documents issued by Norwegian authorities need to be translated in English, notarized and apostilled) :
- Laissez-Passer for Ashes from the Police in English
- Certificate from the Cemetery/Crematorium that the urn contains nothing but ashes of the deceased, and that the urn is hermetically sealed and does not represent any health danger in English and Norwegian
- Medical Certificate of Cause of death
- Report of death from local court
